Hoo’s there? Come find out on Saturday, February 1st at an Owl Talk at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery! Long-time owl enthusiast and owner/educator of Blue Campfire Experiences LLC, Stephen Sciame will start off with a presentation about the main species of owls in this area with a fun “Show & Tell”, followed by a walk in the cemetery in search of the owls that can often be heard hooting here at night!
Stephen was on staff at the Rockefeller Park Preserve for 5 years and also works at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, where he frequently finds owl pellets and other evidence of their presence on the grounds. This is a fun – and FREE! – chance to learn more about these mysterious creatures.
Dress warmly and for the weather! In case of hazardous conditions, the event will be moved to February 8th at the same time. No need to bring anything. We will have lanterns to light the way on our walk.
Yes, it’s cold out, but this is a great time of year to catch a glimpse of our elusive feathered friends! Of course, there’s no guarantee we’ll spot one, but we’ll have fun trying!
Date: February 1, 2020
