Champagne Cocktails with the Dead
Back by popular demand, we are offering – for one night only! – special access to some of the most impressive private mausoleums on the grounds of this 169-year old cemetery. Enjoy champagne cocktails and light refreshments as we unveil these secret places with the families permission! Learn the remarkable history of the families they were built for, revel in the beauty of their design, and help preserve this special place for generations to come with your attendance. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold for this unique event.

Tavern Sign Painting with Halloween Artist Heather Gleason
Join Halloween Artist Heather Gleason as she teaches you how to paint your very own Sleepy Hollow Wood Tavern sign! Everyone will receive a 9×14″ blank wood sign, brushes and paints. No experience is required. There will be stencils for lettering and to help some with the sillouette of the Sinister Headless Horseman image created and cut by Heather. Advance tickets are a must as seats are limited and the class will sell out quickly!

Horace Whitley and the Unimaginable Horror
An ancient tomb of evil! Horrific creatures from beyond space and time! A gentleman fond of fine Uruguayan scotch! Join intrepid adventurer Horace Whitley as he recounts his twisted descent into the darkest heart of Belize in search of knowledge man was never meant to know. Not for the faint of heart. Or children. Or anyone easily offended. Or pirates. Definitely for fans of H. P. Lovecraft, Roald Dahl and anyone who loves a rollicking good story!

An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe, who lived his last few years in a cottage 20 miles from Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, rises from the dead for an evening of mystery and macabre. Poe, portrayed by local storyteller David Neilsen, will read favorites from his own stories and poems. This event always draws a crowd – purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment!
Date & Time: Columbus Day Monday, October 8th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. and also 8:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Beyond the Legend
Washington Irving wrote a fair number of haunting ghost stories besides his famous The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Local storyteller David Neilsen brings some of these gripping tales to life in front of your eyes! What better place to enjoy them than in the memorial chapel named after the great author himself?

Murder Mystery at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
On October 20th Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will host a Murder Mystery event. Everyone who attends is a suspect–even you! Join us for an evening of interactive entertainment with a deadly twist! Advance tickets are a must because of character assignment, so don’t delay, get your tickets today!

Spooky Stories from Six Feet Under
Join us for spine-tingling cemetery tales of ghoulish ghosts, spooky specters, and fiendish fools. The family that screams together, stays together!
Date & Time: Sundays, October 21st and 28th from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
The Devil and Tom Walker
What’s not to love about a tale involving Captain Kidd, treasure, and a bargain with the devil himself? Join us for a special performance based on Washington Irving’s spooky short story “The Devil and Tom Walker”. Musician and fabulous storyteller Jim Keyes brings this eerie tale to life – complete with costume and musical accompaniment. Note: If the weather is nice, this performance will be outdoors. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit around the fire pit – no chairs will be provided. In case of rain, the event will move indoors. Dress for the weather.

Fundraisers like these help us preserve the history of this amazing place for generations to come. Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is a 501(c)(3) organization and still an active cemetery.
